* A volunteer fee will apply if you are not able to donate 1-2 hours during the Spring Season (the opt out button will be seen during Registration)

Information about the LNYSA Spring Recreational Season
2018 and 2019 "Mini-Kickers"- A great introduction to soccer with the emphasis on FUN, with weekly Saturday morning skills sessions, starting at 8:30am at Bear Brand Park for a 60 minute session for 8 weeks. The first session is on Saturday February 25, 2023. Players are assigned to a team on a colored micro-field and play fun soccer games, with frequent water breaks followed by a scrimmage played at the end of the 60 minute session. Soccer patches are handed out each week based on the skills completed that week. Great Capelli Sport uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided to each player. Each Parent will need to provide their player with a size 3 soccer ball and bring plenty of water to the field each Saturday.
2017 (U6) and 2016 (U7) - League Play – Players will be assigned to a set team and play 4v4 or 5v5 without goalkeepers. Recreational Coaches and Volunteers will be present on the field to assist with the general flow of the game. Emphasis will be on implementing soccer skills learned in the midweek Skills Clinics held at Marina Hills Park. The Saturday games consist of a practice period of 30 minutes prior to the game. Saturday games consist of four (4) ten (10) minute quarters with 2-4 minute breaks. The Saturday session lasts for 90 minutes in total. All Saturday games will be played in the mornings at Bear Brand Park. The first game will be Saturday February 25, 2022. A game schedule outlining the 8-week period will be published in Mid February. Each player should bring a size 3 soccer ball to the Saturday games and the midweek Skills Clinics. Great Capelli Sport uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided.
2015 (U8) Champions' League - Players will be assigned to a set team and play 5v5 or 6v6 with goalkeepers. Rec Coaches and Volunteers will be present on the field to assist with the general flow of the game. There will be four (4) ten (10) minute quarters. The Saturday session lasts for 90 minutes in total. Emphasis will be on implementing soccer skills learned in the midweek Skills Clinics. The Skills Clinics will start in late February. Each player should bring a size 3 soccer ball to the Saturday games and the midweek Skills Clinics. Great Capelli Sport uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided.
2013-2014 (Under 10) - A great developmental program for players as they start to understand positions on the field, tactics and compete in Saturday games managed by paid Adult and Youth Referees. Players will be assigned to a set team with a maximum roster of nine (9) and play 7v7 including the goalkeeper. There will be two (2) twenty (25) minutes halves. One practice with the coach and one optional Skills Session will be held during the week. Players should bring a size 4 Soccer ball. In addition to the games, each team practice will have one practices during the week & attend a mid-week Skills Clinic, starting in mid February. Teams in these divisions will be balanced teams, with the roster selected through a player balancing draft. Great Capelli Sport uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided.
2011-2012 (Under 12) - Players will be assigned to a set team with a maximum roster of nine (9) and play 7v7 including the goalkeeper. There will be two (2) thirty (30) minutes halves. One practice with the coach and one Skills Clinic Session will be held during the week. Practice start in mid February 2023. Teams in these divisions will be balanced teams, with the roster selected through a player balancing draft. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided. Players should bring a size 4 Soccer ball.
2009-2010 (Under 14) - Two options may apply for U14 based upon team counts in this division. All teams may play in the local circuit, with all games in Laguna Niguel, or the teams may play in the Travel Circuit. Teams will travel every other weekend with half the games at home and the other half away. Typically, 9 of the 10 games are on Saturday’s with 1 on a Sunday depending upon the number of teams in the circuit & format. Teams must be registered by the mid January, 2023 deadline. Travel Teams Spring Cup are typical played in May. A decision on format will be made by the Division Director in consultation with the Coaches prior to the start of the season.
2006-2007 (U16) and 2003-2005 (U19) - Travel Circuit. Teams will travel every other weekend with half the games at home and the other half away. Typically, 9 of the 10 games are on Saturday’s with 1 on a Sunday depending upon the number of teams in the circuit & format. Teams must be registered by the Jan 30, 2022 deadline. Travel Teams Spring Cup - Girls May 7,14,15. Boys will be played May 15,21,22.
Select Soccer – LNYSA offers and Advanced Recreational program known as Select Soccer. Select Soccer is a natural progression, or transition, for players wishing to play at a higher Recreational level, while retaining many of the benefits of a recreational schedule at a low cost. Competitive (Club) Soccer – LNYSA offers a Competitive Platform under its Laguna United Football Community program. It was established in 2012 as the competitive arm of the Non Profit (501c3) to provide our aspiring players a pathway of continual development that matches and grows with the next generation of standards. The growth and success of our competitive program has gained recognition within our local and Southern California communities as well as the national landscape and competitive platforms. For ages 2003 through 2013 Referee Fees will apply for Games , these fees are picked up by the League during the Spring Season.
